BEGIN TO RUN

Usually the first steps of run are the most frightening.

The hard work and the body pains most of the time stop the natural desire of run.

Comparing to the other sports, it requires immediately a good cardiac and breathing activity, even at low rhythms.

Running means, let the body works almost in its totality, and therefore there is an important general request. As such, this means that, even since the beginning, a real and hard physical training begin.

In other sports the effort impact is lower, but the results would be only partial.

Initially, half an hour of rotate training (slow run and fast walk) is sufficient and useful to obtain considerable benefits.

Considering that half an hour of continuous running is already useful to guarantee general physical fitness, only once reached this goal, you can move to the next step.

Comparing to another sport, such us the cycling, it easy to understand that in 30 minutes of training we’ll reach few results in terms of physical efficiency.

Do not forget that 30 minutes of running invests the body even at a low rhythm; but it is nor the same for the cycling.

Running slowly and doing the same with the bike give different results: the first discipline offers better benefits.


Sometimes, other sports are chosen because the effort is lower. But what we have to understand is the reason why a sport is preferred to another.

In many other sports, it is difficult to think that 30 minutes of training is useful to obtain satisfying results. For example, 1 hour of bike is equivalent to 12 minutes of continuous running and on the other hand, 30 minutes of continuous running correspond to 2 hours and half of bike.

Another reason why I suggest everybody to choose the running discipline is its simplicity in terms of materials required.

The only important thing is the shoe. The rest is important but not critical.
Pair of shorts or training trousers and a t-shirt are sufficient to begin the training.

This sport can be practiced everywhere, but it is not the some for most of other disciplines. Some of the athletes I train keep their sportive bags in the car, and when they are free from work, they just park the car, put the clothes on and begin with the training session. The running is even this: there is no need to book a court or to go to the gym, but when you want to run, you are free to go and train on the road.

The gradualness is very important for the beginner.

You have to begin gradually, trying to avoid the initial euphoria and enjoying slowly all the sensations that come out of this discipline.
